DesignSmart was first launched in the United States in 2010 under the name The Smart Designer. The project management software we offered to interior design firms was called DesignSmart. In 2024, we officially changed our company name to match the name of our software system. (The website address DesignSmart.uk was taken, so we went with DesignSmarter.uk).

In November 2025, we introduced an international version of DesignSmart. This enhanced release supports global standards, including time and date formats, paper sizes, and multiple currencies.
